Welcome back to the latest episode of This Week in Aruba, which covers the events from Friday, November 30th to Thursday, December 6th also known as timeshare week 48. On this episode, we will bring you the latest events and happenings in Aruba.

 

The shout-out for this week goes to Gae Bailey, who is from up north in the New England area and is one of the biggest Aruba fans that I know. She and her husband Charlie were guests in One Happy Podcast Episode 82.

Aruba Wine Week (with wine pairings and specials)

Hurray, it’s time for a yummy week with lots of wine: WINE WEEK ARUBA. From November 28 through December 5 there will be tastings, pairings and loads of fun at several wonderful restaurants on the island. Ten venues, ten wineries and ten tastings are on the menu. Of course, there will be great deals to be had as well. For example, the whole week it’s just $5 per glass of an amazing and special wine selection and $25 per bottle.

 

👉 FOOD & WINE PAIRING EVENTS: A premium selection of bars and restaurants is hosting a Fish & Wine tasting, a Vegan Food & Wine pairing, a Meat and Wine tasting, Wine and Hors d’Oeuvres, a European Food & Wine Pairing, an Asian Food & Wine and Saké pairing, a Today’s Catch and Wine pairing, a Tapas and Wine pairing and a Seafood and Wine pairing. And the amazing thing is… each of these pairing events is just $20 per person. You will be served four high-end wines paired with four gourmet bites. Wouldn’t you like to attend one, two or all of them? We recommend making reservations early in advance, as seating is limited to 15 people per tasting.

 

👉 CULINARY PAIRING DINNER: On Saturday December 1st there will be a culinary 5-course Food & Wine dinner at Hadicurari restaurant, hosted by a sommelier. The price for this gastronomic dinner which includes wines, is just $75 per person. Reservations are needed, as such events sell out quickly.

It’s that time of the year again, when hearts start beating a little bit faster, when there is a handful of hay and a carrot lying around, waiting to be put into small shoes. Yes, it is the exciting month of Sinterklaas! And that means little smiling faces, presents and lots of fun.

 

At Café the Plaza the fun starts on Friday, November 30th when Sinterklaas and his Peters are in a great mood as they can meet and spoil quite a few children.

 

There will be presents (parents are requested to bring one gift per child in advance to Café the Plaza and there will be a small gift from the Sint as well), sweets, coloring plates, singing, face painting and music. There is a special Children’s Menu available during the Sinterklaas afternoon.

The Barracudas Synchro Aruba invites you to celebrate with us the 45th anniversary of Synchronized swimming on Aruba (1973-2018). Over 50 athletes, coaches and parent volunteers will collaborate this year to put together a unique fundraiser show and dinner event: “The Barracudas Synchro Aruba presents: A Tribute to Cirque du Soleil” which will take place on December 1, 2018 at the magnificent Divi Aruba All Inclusive. Doors open at 7:30pm and the performance begins at 8:00pm.

 

An exclusive show that will showcase synchronized swimming in an artistic format complete with lights, props and glittering costumes. The Divi Aruba All Inclusive will prepare a tantalizing Christmas dinner menu for the evening to complete the experience.

 

The show is created over a 2-month period with choreographed and customized routines based on highlights from the 2017/2018 competitive season. The athletes train 3-4 hours a day and more to be sure they perfect the routines for the show.

Tickets will be sold by athletes and can be reserved by filling in a form available online at www.barracudasaruba.com. Contribution is Awg.125,- per person or Awg. 750,- per table of six (6) persons, and includes a mesmerizing show featuring all athletes, a circus show, three-course dinner buffet, welcome drink plus one beverage. Friday nights are for the Latin lovers as C-Zar Olarte takes the lead by singing and plating the hottest Latin beats. His distinctive voice is amazing, and his highest notes can put a lady's pipes to shame. Singing a wide variety of styles, such as merengue and salsa, C-Zar is popular among locals as well as visitors.

 

Everyone's sandy feet are itching to dance when hearing C-Zar perform at MooMba Beach. The always mellow vibes at MooMba, the relaxed atmosphere and terrific cocktails make even the timidest of us lose their inhibitions, but on Friday Nights, it is Latin party-time from the word go.

 

So, come on down to MooMba Beach to see international star C-Zar in action, dance and have fun! Latin Night starts at 9pm and the entrance is free

 

Saturday, 1 December (2:00pm): Salt Grooves Beach Party at MooMba Beach

ATTENTION ALL PARTY GOERS: MooMba Beach is the location of a fabulous party that should not be missed. This Saturday, the Salty Grooves Beach Party is on: starting at 2 pm with top DJ's, the Chill (bucket) specials and the foam bath will be live in action. Oh, and don't forget all the sexy people going wild at MooMba... get ready!

Thursday, 6 December (4:00pm): Thursday's Karaoke Party

Have you ever wanted to grab the mic and belt out a song?

 

Most people love to sing in the shower - there, in the privacy of this super small venue, they are superstars. But now they can take their aspirations one step further: sing their hearts out during Thursday afternoon’s Karaoke Party at MooMba Beach. It is a weekly event, held from 4 to 6 pm, and everyone can join in free of charge. Rasta Alvin is the host of the party, which features bucket specials on Heineken, Amstel Bright, Chill and Balashi beer.

 

Be bold, break the mold, step out of your comfort zone and grab the microphone. Just do it - it will be one more great memory of your trip to Aruba. And who knows: you might be discovered at MooMba!
